Would You Consider An Open Marriage?

At one point i was a hopeless romantic.

I thought that two people should truly be soulmates to be in a marriage but boy my opinion of marriage has changed drastically in the past few years.

I'm a pisces so i am naturally romantic by nature, but i really dont think there is such a thing as a soulmate.

Like Chris Rock said, "nobody gets a soulmate. all you goin get in life, if you're lucky, is a mate."

Now i do believe that their could be a soulmate out there for you (i know i just contradicted myself but...) but i just dont want to spend all my time looking for one.

Im lazy and impatient.

I've been friends with a girl now from new york for almost a year.

We talk almost everyday.

We dont get along with each other much except when she wants to spend my money but im cool with her so i decided to go ahead and pop the question lol.

She accepted so hopefully we can get married some time soon.

What really made me want to get married is looking at my neighbors.

These two are siblings (brother and sister).

The woman is pushing 70 and her brother is in his mid 70's.

Neither one of them are married.

They live in different houses too.

They are pathetic, always fussing and cussing with each other, old miserable and lonely.

I dont want to be like that so I decided to marry the woman ive been friends with the longest (and the one I knew would accept the propsal).

I like this girl because she's easygoing like me, even though she'll get on your case if you mess up she's quick to forgive and... she doesnt mind having an open marriage.

I like the idea because i dont have to be under a lot of pressure to please her.

If i cant do it hopefully some other guy (or maybe some other girl) can.

And if i slip up she'll be ok with it (even though i'll never tell her unless i get caught in the act).

I dont want to be old, lonely and miserable so i guess you have to make some compromises down the line.

Do i wish it could be a monogamous relationship where we get along very well and we blend together well and we dont have to look for substitutes?

Sure!

Is it likely to happen... I dont know.

In this daya nd age you have to consider that most people are going to cheat on their spouse at one point in time in their life so why not go into the marriage anticipating and setting up a plan on what to do about it when it does happen.

Ive never cheated on any woman i was going steady with in my life.

I probably still wont do it now that its acceptable but i dont care if she does.

I just want a happy woman.

That's all.

I know she wont always be happy but i want her happy more than sad at least 75% of the time.

Thats selfish but what can you say.

So what do you say?

Would you have an open marriage or what.

I know im not the only freak up in here.

Back in Brooklyn Kid!

I couldnt stay away from new york for long.

There will always be a special place in my heart for Harlem but i love, love LOVE Brooklyn.

All you see is black people downtown.

Not too many hispanics and whites.

Mainly Blacks!

Ive decided that im moving here for good.

Im staying in a hotel for now but eventually i want to get a house out here, or even rent a storefront and sell my herbal products that way and give lectures there.

Ive already gotten customers here so i see alot of potential.

This is the most confident ive ever felt about my future.

I cant beleive im actually starting to grow out of my Babyboy tendencies lol.

Maybe.

All this snow is getting on my damn nerves!

I might be in a time warp but i thought i lived in baltimore not wisconsin.

All this damn snow is making me heated!

In baltimore, maryland we've had the hardest snow storm we've had probably since the ice age.

I cant move in the house.

Im staying with my moms now.

Everything she says gets on my nerves.

I whipped my little nephews ass the other day for stealing some klondike bars the other day.

Im losing my freakin mind man, and its because of all this freakin snow.

This is why we need more blow torches in the black community.

I hate the color white.

I hate bleached white flour, white sugar, white snow and most of all white people lol.

Sidebar: There are too many cracker ass crackers moving into the hood trying to be cool with black people.

One came up to me today and said "whats up my brother?"

I wanted slap dog shit out his clammy white ass.

Im not like other "safe negros" out there.

Mutha fucker im like Brandy and Sarah jessica Parker I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER MUTHA FUCKA!

And every other summer before that in this nation.

Do me a favor people.

This is black history so i want you to do some self discovery.

Go to the library (damn, whats that?) and look up this book called "the cartoon history of the united states" and see what these peckerwoods being doing to us since time immorial.

I like this book because its written like a big comic book.

You see the images of the horrible things they used to do to us and we all know images speak a thousand words.

People you need to study slavery from the white mans perspective to really get a feel for how eveil these people were (and a glimpse of the evil that others outside this country feel at this present time).

When the honorable Elijah Muhammad said that all white men were the devil, hewasnt jivin.

This is the stuff they pray you never find out.

How does the media present us?

Black people have always been troublesome in the sense of how they should be projected on TV.

One thing i've learned pertaining to the images of blacks in america is that they aren't static.

Images of blacks change according to the needs this society has for them.

Lets start with slavery.

In slavery there was a need of this government to show blacks as "happy slaves" so that they wouldnt have any guilt in enslaving blacks.

So you saw flyers and advertisements with blacks smiling and enjoying their existence in slavery.

They horrible things that were done to slaves wasnt shown as much as these happy images.

And all of this was done to soothe white guilt for what they were doing to their fellow human beings.

When blacks were freed the government portrayed them in another light.

This white supremacist government didnt want to give blacks all of the rights and resources that were owed to them.

They couldnt take seeing large numbers of educated, business owning blacks because it opened up the possibilty that these people were actually equal to them so they portrayed blacks in the mainstream media as savages, incapable of adjusting to freedom and incapable of governing themselves.

This portrayal was created to justify the terrorization of blacks on so many levels in this country, because if they are savages incapable of controling their primitive nature then they have to be controlled and dominated by the ruling society right.

And these portrayal continued all through the early 1900's to around the mid to late 1960's.

Then the civil rights struggle hit and civil rights leaders started to plea to the broadcasters to show more "positive" images of blacks.

So the media started to portray blacks being integrated, living with and being friends with white people.

They did this to say to white america, "they are just like us" so that white america wouldnt be so hostile to their integration.

These images are still carried out today.

Even though there is still television programing that present us as savages and barbarians, the vast majority of media images show us in a "glowing light" that is, just like whites but only colored.

They have also depicted us as being just like them so that these sell out black people with inculcated white values could be considered normal while the vast majority of struggling blacks were considered abnormal and deviant.

Basically saying we shouldnt try to help other blacks who are continuously held back by the government.

Many of us dont even think we are held back because of the pervasiveness of the successful images on television.

We have been totally brainwashed and many people dont see it yet because they have never been taught how to analyze the media.

Im gonna start writing more posts about this issue.

Stay tuned.

Keep those affirmations in your back pocket.

I've really been sticking to my plans lately because I keep positive affrimations in my back pocket to look at whenever i need a reminder of what my goals are in life.

Here are some affirmations I've jotted down for myself.

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

YOUR MAIN PROBLEM IS YOU WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING

GIVE A DEADLINE FOR EVERYTHING

ONLY FOCUS ON WHAT YOU WANT

IF YOU GIVE YOUR BODY THE PROPER NUTRITION YOU WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AND YOU WILL REACH YOUR FULL POTENTIAL

YOU CANT SOLVE PROBLEMS BY USING THE SAME THINKING THAT CREATED THEM

If you want to change some unwanted aspect of your life you have to create and constantly review aspirations that inspire yout ot do just that.

John Gray said it takes the average person 200 times reviewing something before they actually get it.

What the heck are you doing looking at this post.

You have a lot of work to do.
